I was innocently driving to my brother's partner's place of work (it was her birthday and I had actually baked a cake! But failed to photograph the event! Nuts.), and I spied some garage sale signage. I got this for 20 cents:
Totally handmade. Checkout the detail on the embellishments:
I may use the large version of this image as a screensaver.
20 AUSTRALIAN cents, people. I was toying with cutting it up to make a lovely wool handbag using tinyhappy's pattern, but I think I might just keep it for the dress-up box for my future niece or nephew. With all the girly things I already have for baby and girly clothing, and for the dress-up box that I have been assembling, I have explained to R (my brother) that if he has a boy, I will probably turn this little boy gay with all the foofery and frippery I have already amassed. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I so can't wait for his kid to be born. I also can't wait to find out if I'm going to be an auntie or an uncle. The suspense is KILLING me. AND I have to wait until mid-March. It's all so unfair. Sigh.
In the meantime, I am happy to keep finding things to put into the dress-up box. Already have a wedding dress (freecycle - heard of it? Look it up) and a selection of jewelry and handbags. Need to make some caveman and superhero stuff, too, *just* to keep a balance. I'm going to be SUCH a good auntie.
